Binding in half-leather with corners, and the thiol and gold decorations to spine, in a bad condition: the headset upper damaged, spelature to the spine, hinges and corners at the edge of the dishes, dust, and stains on the dishes. The maps in general are well preserved (some quinterni burnished) with pale blooms irregularly distributed; rare handwritten notes ancient to the margins. The first edition of elegant and well-balanced typography, published posthumously and completed by Jacques Helias, of this monumental and erudite commentary on the Comedies of Plautus to Denis Lambin, a famous French philologist of the SIXTEENTH century. The twenty comedies published (Amphitruo, Asinaria, Aulularia, Capteivei, Curculio, Casina, Cistellaria, Epidicus, Bacchides, Mostellaria, Menaechmi, Miles gloriosus, Mercator, Pseudolus, Poenulus, Persa, Rudens, Stichus, Trinummus, Truculentus) are preceded by the list of Dramatis personae and from Argumentum (also in two versions); every scene is accompanied by extensive notes, philological.
