Description
A masterpiece of early 20th-century graphic art, an excellent example of the movement to rediscover ancient engraving techniques promoted by the publishing house L'Eroica, the poem is presented in its entirety in 219 engravings: 70 full-page illustrations and 149 with images and text entirely engraved by the artist in relief etching on zinc plates, with a technique that imitates the effect of xylography. After the impression made in the workshop of the Magnani brothers, all the typographic material was destroyed. The print run is limited to 1333 copies, numbered and signed by the author and the publisher in an engraved frame on page 5: our copy bears the number 799. Also present is the rare illustrated editorial slipcase.
